Along some other roles, David Hlouch is an architect. And he believes to be an unbiased and open minded one. In 2003 he is starting the brokenBox Unity, a creative studio focused on architecture, design, graphics and related production. Two years later Jakub Hemzal joins as a partner, in 2007 Lenka Slívová jumps aboard also as a partner. In 2009 the international office crew counts seven architects and one coder. The brokenBox Unity mission is considered finished since 2013. The brokenBox got fixed. The bBU works cover a wide range of projects. A portfolio could be provided on demand.

Nowadays, David Hlouch is signed up for quite a different mission, as he is serving his fourth year as a mayor of a Central Bohemian village Tehov. He has decided to try to bring and use the best of his knowledge and skills to guide his community into more rational urban planning and to help to prepare and start various projects. As a full time mayor, David put his own architectural practice mostly on hold.

Since 2016, David Hlouch is elected a board member of the Czech Chamber of Architects.

Currently he is also providing a consulting services to municipalities and private clients.
